September 5 proclaimed as 'Texas Elite Spartans Day'

FRISCO, TEXAS (WSFA) - The Texas Elite Spartans were in Frisco on Tuesday night to be honored for the proclamation of September 5 as "Texas Elite Spartans Day."


The Spartans attended a City Council meeting at the George A. Purefoy Municipal Center on Tuesday, where Frisco Mayor Jeff Chaney presented a signed proclamation that officially made September 5 "Texas Elite Spartans Day."


The Texas Elite Spartans launched in 2018 and play the most competitive level of women's football, in the Women's National Football Conference (WNFC). On June 25, the Spartans defeated the Mississippi Panthers to win their 4th straight national title at The Ford Center in Frisco, Texas.
