The Spartans Return Home Hungry for a Win – Let’s Pack the House, DFW!

Writer: TESTES

The Texas Elite Spartans are back on home turf this weekend and ready to bounce back in a big way.

After a hard-fought road loss in their season opener against the Kansas City Glory, the Spartans are focused, fired up, and ready to defend home turf against the Seattle Majestics. Despite the result, Week 1 showed that this year’s squad has the talent and toughness to go the distance.

Defense Holding the Line

The Spartans defense was anchored by All-Pro DB Jewelle Grimsley, who continued to show why she’s one of the most dominant defensive players in the league. Veteran Amber Kimbrough returned with a standout performance, bringing energy, physicality, and leadership to every snap. Newcomer Whitney Palmer made her debut at defensive end and wasted no time making an impact, applying pressure and forcing key plays off the edge.

Offense Finding Its Rhythm

On offense, the Spartans leaned on a mix of veteran leadership and rookie firepower. Rookie receiver Summer McNeal flashed big-play ability and proved she belongs under the lights. Running back Destiny Yarbrough ran with purpose and physicality, delivering blow after blow as she pushed the ground game forward.

In the trenches, All-Pro offensive guard Tammie Moore stepped into the center role and dominated on all fronts, handling the line calls, anchoring the protection, and setting the tone up front.

At quarterback, Michelle Angel showed flashes of greatness and playmaking ability, leading a dynamic three-minute drive late in the fourth that nearly won the game. She enters this weekend with momentum, confidence, and full command of the offense.

Let’s Defend Home Turf

This team may have new faces, but the championship mindset remains. And now, they need their city behind them. The Spartans are calling on the DFW community to show up and show out this Saturday as they fight for their first win of the season.
